The Andover One Wheelers Unicycle Program was established by former Health and Physical Education teacher, Percy Hill, and a group of dedicated adults in September of 1990. Since that time young ambassadors from Andover have dazzled hundreds of thousands of spectators throughout the United States and in Canada and The Bahamas.
Recognized as a co-curricular activity, the One Wheelers program is free to all Andover Students in grades K-8 and consists of three levels. The coaches for the 2010-11 school year are: Michelle Keezer for One Wheelers and Stephanie Peters for Learn-to-Ride.
In Learn to Ride, students are able to learn how to ride a unicycle in weekly after school practice sessions. Once riding, a student can progress to the Intermediate Team where skills are sharpened and endurance built. Interested students and their families can then become part of the Traveling Team and participate in year-round performance opportunities in and around New England and beyond.
